SMS consent and opt-in
Klopfenstein's Lighting Inc. ("KLI") collects SMS opt-in through an unchecked website consent box, a consumer-sent START keyword, or documented verbal consent given to a KLI representative by phone. No SMS messages are sent before consent.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

KLI does not sell, rent, release, trade, or share mobile opt-in information or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This SMS program is used for customer support and is not used for marketing or advertising.
How opt-in is collected
1) Website form
On our literature request form and the sign-up form below, the consumer enters their contact details and may check an unchecked consent box next to this disclosure:
The submission records the mobile number, date and time, source, and consent. After the form is received, KLI sends the opt-in confirmation shown under Text-to-join.
2) Text-to-join
The consumer texts START to 808-900-3280 after seeing the opt-in invitation on this website. KLI immediately replies: "Klopfenstein's Lighting: You're subscribed to recurring messages about customer support, quotes and order status. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help." Consent is not a condition of purchase. Mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
3) Verbal opt-in by phone
When a customer calls about a quote, order or project and asks for updates by text, a KLI representative reads this disclosure before any message is sent: "Klopfenstein's Lighting would like to send you recurring SMS messages about customer support, quotes and order status, literature requests, and project coordination. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Privacy Policy and SMS Terms are available at https://kli-hi.com/privacy.html. Do you agree to receive these messages?" The consumer must affirmatively agree. KLI records the mobile number, date and time, representative, verbal-consent source, and disclosure version, then sends the opt-in confirmation above.

SMS terms and conditions
Program: Klopfenstein's Lighting customer support SMS, operated by Klopfenstein LLC, 1128 Nuuanu Avenue, Suite 101, Honolulu, HI 96817.
Message types: customer support replies, quote and order status, will-call and delivery coordination, literature and catalog requests, and project or lighting-application coordination. No marketing or promotional messages.
Frequency and rates: message frequency varies by your requests. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless provider for details about your plan.
HELP: reply HELP to any message, call 808-900-3280, or email dkw@kli-hi.com for assistance.
STOP / opt-out: reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent unless you opt in again.
Consent not shared: mobile opt-in information and SMS consent are not sold, rented, released, traded, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy policy
Information we collect
- Contact and project details you send us: name, title, company, address, phone, fax, email, your primary business, the manufacturers you're interested in, and any comments, files (such as .DXF or .DWG drawings) or questions you provide through our forms or by email, phone or text.
- SMS opt-in records: mobile number, date and time, source and consent status, kept when you opt in to text messages.
- Basic website data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and time of visit) for security and troubleshooting. This site does not use advertising cookies or trackers.
How we use it
- To respond to your request: send literature, prepare budget prices and quotes, answer application questions and coordinate projects.
- To pass a literature or product request to the manufacturer you asked about, so they can send you their catalog.
- To send the text messages you opted in to, and to keep records of that consent.
- To keep our systems secure and comply with the law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.
Retention
We keep request and project records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our business and legal obligations. SMS consent records are kept while you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward to document consent and opt-out.
Delete your data
Email dkw@kli-hi.com or call 808-900-3280 to ask us to correct or delete your information. We'll confirm once it's done, except for records we're required to keep.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our services are for businesses and lighting professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
